Welcome to RepRap DIY, outlet of Markus “Traumflug” Hitter, developer of RepRap's Generation 7 Electronics.

Generation 7 Electronics

Generation 7 Electronics is a RepRap controller designed to be do-it-yourselfable and replicable. Replication is what makes RepRap unique.

The circuitry design is very similar to other single/stacked board solutions, like RAMPS or Sanguinololu. Generation 7 Electronics can drive the same hardware. Just faster, because it features a ARM 32-bit CPU. Additionally, it comes with a number of detail improvements to make it more reliable.

For details, see the Gen7 Board-ARM v2.0 page. The PCBs are manufactured on a RepRap machine and the kit's contents match the tables on the Wiki page, including connectors and solder/crimp pins.

Name Price with VAT Price without VAT
Gen7 v2.0 PCB, including developer donation EUR 16.50 EUR 13.90
Gen7 v2.0 Components Kit (with LPC1114 CPU) EUR 22.- EUR 18.50
Gen7 v2.0 Connectors Kit EUR 9.50 EUR 8.-
3-pack Mechanical Endstops with connectors EUR 4.50 EUR 3.80

Prices including VAT apply to citizens of the European Union. Customers outside the European Community qualify for the VAT-free, lower prices.

To make use of the sets, you likely also need the following parts:

  • 4 “Pololus” or “StepSticks”. These are the same as on other RepRap controllers, so whatever works on a RAMPS, works on a Gen7, too.
  • A power supply, capable of delivering 5 Volts and 12 Volts, prefered a PC power supply > 200 Watts (without heated bed) or > 450W (with heated bed).

An often requested combination includes the following:

  • 1x Gen7 v2.0 PCB
  • 1x Gen7 v2.0 Components Kit
  • 1x Gen7 v2.0 Connectors Kit
  • 1x 3-pack Mechanical Endstops
  • Shipping

Gen7 Endstop

Gen7 Endstop is an optical endstop using a light barrier. It was the recommended endstop for Gen7 v1.5 and before. Designed for 5 V and 3.3 V signals, so it can be connected to a Gen7-ARM 2.0 by one of the SPI connectors.

Orderable Items

The SevenSwitch is a general purpose DC switch, useful for operating heated beds, heaters, fans and similar devices by 5 V operated electronics, like Generation 6 Electronics, RAMPS, Sanguinololu, Generation 7 Electronics and similars. The only input needed is a 5 V signal. It's fast enough to run at 80 kHz PWM, strong enough to switch up to 15 Ampéres and allows voltages of up to 30 V, including 12 and 24 Volts.

For details, see SevenSwitch in the RepRap Wiki. The PCBs are manufactured on a RepRap machine. The Parts Kit matches the table on the Wiki page, including alternative parts for all configurations, pluggable connectors as well as screw terminals, 12 V and 24 V variants.

Ordering

For now, please order by emailing to Traumflug (mah@jump-ing.de).

Payment via bank wire is somewhat preferred (no fees here). For European citizens that's a SEPA bank transfer, for other parts of the world TransferWise is a good, low-fees choice:
